I thought I would make an entry, since it's been a few weeks.

I spent this week in Actuate training. Actuate is a reporting tool like Crystal, but much more robust. The first four days were spent on the designer, and today was working on the spreadsheet tool. It does have a web component, but it was mostly using VB and using the layout tool.

I didn't expect to enjoy it, but I did. I guess I appreciate the complexity of the solution and being involved in its rollout. It was also nice to stretch a little and work on something new for once.

It looks like Actuate could become a big part of what I do around here.
